I want to share a really happy story with you all. I’ve posted about this through my social media accounts but I realize I never shared it on my blog.
As you may know from some of my posts, I am a dog fanatic. We have 3 sweet pups and I could not imagine my life without them. Our chihuahuas, Radio and Rugby, are 7 1/2 and I’ve been with them for the past 6 years (I got them as a package deal with their mom aka Jess!) We wanted to add a new four-legged family member for the past few years, and finally decided the time was right a few months after buying our first home. We found Jack around Labor Day 2016 and instantly fell in love. We adopted him from Saving Grace here in NC. When we went to meet him, we also met his two very sweet litter mates. We wished we could take all of them but Jack was the best fit for our family and got along best with our sometimes difficult chihuahuas.
Here is our crew all dressed up for this year’s Christmas card:
Due to our work schedules, we hired Peppy Pets to come out and walk our dogs in the middle of the day. They do a great job with our three. Not long ago, Peppy Pets updated their website. The new website included a header with photos of some of their puppy clients. Looking at the header I saw a dog that looked really familiar. I reached out to the owner of Peppy Pets to see if she had any information about the dog because I thought it could be one of Jack’s litter mates. She connected me with the owner of the dog and we discovered that it was, in fact, his litter mate- Jersey. She had been adopted a few days after we took Jack home and was living nearby (and using the same dog walker!) What are the odds?
We scheduled a play date at a local dog park immediately. What followed was so fun to watch. You could tell they definitely remembered one another (they were 12 weeks old when separated). I have included some pictures of their reunion along with a video (as you watch the video it begins with some pictures of both Jack and Jersey as pups and then there is video of them playing.
I hope you enjoyed our happy story. We hope they have many more play dates now that the weather is turning warmer.
Have a great day!
